How do I get to your shop from Manhattan?

We are in Long Island City, a few minutes from Midtown. From Manhattan the Queens-MidtownTunnel puts you close, and the Queensboro Bridge works well from the Upper East Side. FromBrooklyn the Pulaski Bridge is the direct route, and from Queens we are just off the mainapproaches to both crossings.

If you are coming from Manhattan and would rather not drive at all, you do not have to. Wewill send a tow truck to collect your vehicle wherever it is, do the work here, and tow it backto an address you choose when it is finished. That applies whether the car is driveable or not.

What should I tell you when I call?

A short call saves a wasted trip, and the details that help most are usually the ones peopleassume are unimportant.

• Year, make, and model. Parts availability and procedure vary considerably,and it lets us tell you in advance if something needs ordering.
• What changed, and when. A noise that started after a pothole is adifferent conversation from one that developed gradually over months.
• When it happens. Cold start only, under braking, at speed, or turning oneway. This narrows a diagnosis more than almost anything else.
• Whether a warning light is on, and whether it is steady or flashing. Aflashing check engine light is urgent and changes what we tell you to do next.
• For collision work, whether a claim is involved and whether you have theclaim number yet.

What happens when I bring my car in?

For an estimate, we look at the vehicle with you rather than taking it away and returningwith a number. On collision damage we will tell you honestly when a figure written from theoutside is only a starting point, because damage travels behind the panels and the real extentappears once the cover comes off.

For mechanical work we measure rather than estimate by eye: brake pad and rotor thickness,tread depth across the full width of the tire, suspension play, and alignment where a hardimpact is involved. If nothing needs doing, we will tell you that too.

What are your towing hours?

Our towing runs from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM every day. If your car will not start, has been in a collision, or hasfailed somewhere it will be ticketed, call and tell us where it is, including the level and bayif it is in a parking structure, since clearance decides which truck we send. Repair workitself happens during the same hours, and a vehicle brought straight here is looked at as soonas it arrives rather than sitting where it stopped.

Are your estimates free?

Estimates are free and carry no obligation. If you are making a claim, you choose the repairshop: an insurer may recommend a facility in its network and describe the benefits, but itcannot require you to use one as a condition of settling a claim you are covered for. We dealwith your adjuster directly, and we tell you when a supplement goes in and when it is approved,because that gap is where a timeline quietly extends.

Where do I park when I drop off my car?

You can pull into the shop during opening hours; you do not need to find a space on thestreet first. If you are dropping the vehicle and leaving, tell us how to reach you and whetheryou would rather be called or messaged, because a decision waiting on a returned call is themost common reason a repair sits still.

If you are collecting outside shop hours or need the car back at a particular time, say sowhen you book. Paint has cure times that cannot be shortened, so a firm deadline is worthknowing at the start rather than on the day.

What will you tell me before I agree to a repair?

• Whether the estimate is written from visible damage only, or after disassembly.
• Which parts are original, aftermarket, or recycled.
• Whether your vehicle needs a sensor calibration, and whether we do it here.
• A realistic completion window, and when we will review it with you.
• When something does not need doing yet.
